I try to get my client sites found. My main concern when it comes to Search engines is to make sure that my sites are positioned well in the search results for the chosen keywords. I find that to be moire useful than obtaining a high page rank the two are not the same.

I find it quite difficult to get the required quality backlinks to sites which I still don't agree with. There are a number of quality sites but there's not always a reason to link to it. So these days it seems one of the only ways to get links is to add a blog to your site.

I really don't understand why so many webmasters put such a high value in pagerank. In a way, I wish that google would just end public pr so webmasters will focus on important factors such as traffic, and serps. Many low pr sites have proved that pr is not important for rankings, and I feel that pr is a tired way of placing value on a website. Just my 2 cents

Content is king as far as I'm concerned. Build you site well and add appropriate content to your site and you will have the foundation for SEO.

I do understand the frustration of building a site in a niche market which had at the time an exhaustive amount of appropriate content yet I can only guess because of the lack of backlinks was not highly ranked on Google. Eventually the site did receive a number of links and now ranks much higher.

I still think it a well built site with the right content is where you have to start.
