It’s safe to say that Facebook is the most popular site for social networking on the internet these days. It allows you to keep in touch with relatives, friends, and business associates. Facebook is a very convenient way to update others on your activities, photos, and links to favorite sites. Sometimes, however, you may find the need to remove someone from your friends list. To do this, you must know how to delete friends on Facebook.
It’s a simple process to unfriend someone from your Facebook account. You may want to do this if you no longer want to be associated with someone on your Friends list. Perhaps you no longer want them to know about your personal activities. There are even some Facebook users who set their accounts to be blocked from viewing by anyone except their friends.
To delete a friend on Facebook, you must first log on to your account. Go to the “Friends” column on the left side of the page, and select “See All”. Scroll through the list until you see the one that you are looking for. Click on his or her profile, and then locate the box at the bottom which says “Remove from Friends”. Select the option to remove or delete the friend from your Facebook account. This will complete the unfriending process.
There’s another way to delete friends on Facebook. If you are going through your full list of friends, you will see a gray “X” on the far right of each friend’s name. Click on the “X” and a confirmation box will appear. You will be asked if you really want to delete the person from your list of friends. Click “Remove Friend” to confirm the unfriending process.
If you have a strong reason to unfriend someone, you may want to prevent future communication or dealings with them. You can block that person to avoid future contact on Facebook with him or her.
When you unfriend someone on your Facebook account, you will disappear from their friends list. However, your former friend will not be informed that they have been unfriended. You will still be able to view your former friend’s Facebook profile as long as it is public but you can no longer access them.
If you unfriended someone unintentionally, or you had a change of heart about the unfriending process, just send another friend request. Once your request is accepted, your friend will be added back to your list. Be sure to think twice before you delete friends on Facebook.
